With Periskope’s Automated Notifications, you can set up automated notifications, so the right updates reach the right place instantly. Triggers and actions are pre-configured. Your team stays in sync without manual monitoring.

How It Works

Automated Notification Templates are pre-built rules that automatically push message data to other platforms based on triggers. Instead of building automation from scratch, you activate a template and refine how and when the notification triggers.

• Select a template from the Automated Notifications category
• Review the pre-configured trigger and notification action
• Optionally add conditions to refine the workflow
• Configure the external endpoint or Slack channel
• Save and activate the rule
• Important updates are now delivered automatically

The entire process takes minutes. Notifications are instant, ensuring nothing gets overlooked.

Getting Started with Automated Notifications

Step 1: Access Automation Rules and Start from Template

From your Periskope dashboard > go to Automation Rules > Click New Rule > Click Start from Template. You’ll see templates organized by category. Look for the Automated Notifications category.

Step 2: Choose a Template

Inside Automated Notifications, select the template that matches your needs. See available templates below.

Step 3: Review and Optionally Customize

Each template comes with a trigger and action already configured. Review these to understand how the escalation will work and what conditions will activate it.

Step 4: Save and Activate

Click Save to store your rule. Click Activate to turn it live. Notifications are now sent automatically.

Available Automated Notification Templates

1. Send Webhook Notification on Every Message

When to use: Use this when you need to bridge the gap between Periskope and your own internal database or proprietary software. It is ideal for teams that require high-level customization for data storage or complex backend triggers that aren’t handled natively. Use case: A new message arrives from a customer, and the webhook instantly pushes that data to your CRM to update a lead’s activity log or triggers an automated billing process in your finance tool.

2. Send Slack Notification on Every New Message

When to use: This is best for teams that live in Slack and want to reduce the “toggle tax” of switching between platforms. It ensures that high-velocity conversations are visible to everyone in a shared channel without requiring manual scanning of the dashboard. Use case: When a message is received in a high-priority group chat, it is instantly mirrored to a specific Slack channel so your support or sales team can coordinate a response in real-time without leaving their primary communication hub.
