Send instant, consistent responses to customer messages automatically. Handle repetitive queries without manual effort. Keep conversations responsive 24/7.

Overview

Not every message needs manual effort, but every message still needs a response. With Periskope’s Automated Replies Templates, you can automate responses so your team can focus on more important conversations. Greetings, common questions, after-hours messages, mentions; let automation handle the repetitive replies while your team focuses on complex issues.

How It Works

Automated Replies Templates are pre-built rules that send messages automatically based on triggers and conditions. Instead of building automation from scratch, you activate a template and customize the reply message.
  • Select a template from the Automated Replies category
  • Review the pre-configured trigger and reply message
  • Customize the reply text to match your tone
  • Optionally refine conditions (keywords, hours, etc.)
  • Save and activate the rule
  • Automatic replies are now sent on matching messages
The entire process takes minutes. Replies are instant, consistent, and can be customized for any scenario.

Getting Started with Automated Replies

Step 1: Access Automation Rules
From your Periskope dashboard, go to Automation Rules > Click New Rule > Click Start from Template. You’ll see templates organized by category. Look for the Automated Replies category.

Available Automated Replies Templates

  1. Automated Replies on Message with Keywords
When to use: You handle high volumes of repetitive queries like greetings, common questions, or initial touchpoints. This ensures every message gets an immediate, consistent response and reduces wait times while taking repetitive load off your team. Use case: A customer sends ‘Hi! Do you have any job openings?’ Your autoreply responds instantly: ‘Thanks for reaching out! We received your message and will review your inquiry within 24 hours.’ Your team then follows up with a substantive response.

  1. Automated Replies for Messages Outside Business Hours
When to use: Your team isn’t available 24/7 but you still want to acknowledge incoming messages. This is important for maintaining responsiveness, setting clear expectations on response times, and keeping a reliable customer experience even when no one is online. Use case: A customer sends a message at 11 PM. Instead of silence, they automatically receive: ‘Thanks for your message! We’re currently closed but will respond first thing in the morning. We appreciate your patience.’ This maintains trust and sets realistic expectations.

  1. Automated Replies for Mentions
When to use: Multiple team members are involved in conversations. This works well in collaborative environments where it helps ensure that tagged messages are acknowledged quickly, reducing chances of delays and keeping internal coordination smooth and responsive. Use case: Someone mentions @Sarah in a group chat asking for budget approval. Sarah automatically receives: ‘Thanks for looping me in! I’ve received your message and will review it shortly.’ Sarah gets notified immediately and knows the mention was received, eliminating follow-up pings.
