Keywords trigger flags. Mentions get marked. Urgent issues surface without manual scanning. Your team focuses on what matters most.

How It Works

Automated Flagging Templates are pre-built rules that automatically flag messages based on triggers and conditions. Instead of building automation from scratch, you activate a template and customize what gets flagged.
  • Select a template from the Automated Flagging category
  • Review the pre-configured trigger and flag action
  • Optionally customize keywords or conditions
  • Configure who sees these flagged messages
  • Save and activate the rule
  • Important messages are now flagged automatically
The entire process takes minutes. Flagging is instant, visible, and ensures nothing gets overlooked.

Getting Started with Automated Flagging

Step 1: Access Automation Rules and Start from Template
From your Periskope dashboard > go to Automation Rules > Click New Rule > Click Start from Template. You’ll see templates organized by category. Look for the Automated Flagging category.

Inside Automated Flagging, select the template that matches your needs. See available templates below.

Step 3: Review and Optionally Customize
Each template comes with a trigger and action already configured. Review these to understand how the escalation will work and what conditions will activate it.

Step 4: Customize Conditions
Edit keywords or other conditions to match what matters to your team. Add, remove, or modify keywords or conditions to better capture what needs flagging.
Step 5: Save and Activate
Click Save to store your rule. Click Activate to turn it live. Messages are now flagged automatically.

Available Automated Flagging Templates

  1. Flag Messages for Specific Keywords
When to use: Certain words or phrases indicate priority or urgency. This helps your team quickly identify messages that need immediate attention, without having to manually scan every conversation. Use case: A customer message arrives saying ‘This is urgent - our system is down!’ The keyword ‘urgent’ triggers an automatic flag. The message appears highlighted in your inbox, so it gets attention first. Your team sees it immediately instead of it sitting in a queue.

  1. Flag Messages on Mentions
When to use: Multiple people are involved in conversations. This ensures that whenever someone is tagged, the message is automatically flagged, making it easier to track and respond without delays. Use case: Someone mentions @David in a group chat asking ‘David, can you approve this?’ The message is automatically flagged for David. He sees it immediately in his flagged messages and knows it needs his attention, reducing chances of the request being missed.
